Worn Out Faces

I've had the concept for this circulating in my head for quite a while now, but without the knowledge of how to execute it. I got the idea upon listening to the Mad World cover by Gary Jules. I don't completely remember, but I suppose my mind wandered to Batman TAS, and all the people Batman wishes he could have helped, or wishes would choose the right path. Just people he can't save all on his own. It wasn't until I heard a cover of a cover of Sound of Silence when the image completely..."landed in my brain", as it were. So you have both songs to thank.

And, of course, with the picture being comic-themed, and me not having a tablet(yet), I inked it. With the best inking job I could push my self to do(asside from the balcony he's sitting on, of course.) I was unsure of how to ink Batman's cape through the entire picture without taking away from anybody(and completely flooding a flimsy 8 1/2 by 11 with ink), so I just sort of cut it off at some point. Hope that looks okay.

I chose the select most sympathetic characters, or moments in my opinion. Two-Face and Clayface without question, Mr. Freeze...well, also without question, Harley because of her complicated feelings of being unable to leave a one-way relationship, Baby Doll because she can never look as old as she wants to(or have a normal life without getting flagged down those who'd point and stare for that matter), Robin, reguarding the two-parter episode that centered around the death of his parents(that I sort of skipped, sorry), and Barbra, regarding the episode where her father was shot. I would have included, maybe, the Penguin, but the only time the show made him look sympathetic or showed a struggle of his was played up more for comedy. And, I didn't add Jervis because he's also a pretty comedic character, and, well, he brought a lot of it on himself, I suppose. Then again, I cropped this picture, and there is still room in case I get an idea for one other I may have forgotten.
